Every online business could use some web marketing ideas that will help expand their business. Web marketing increases a company’s online visibility, sometimes adds credibility, can enhance your business’ image, and of course increase your customer base. Here are three classic web-marketing ideas to start your creative juices flowing as you plan your own web promotions campaign.
Holding a contest is a fabulous tool for marketing your business in an inconspicuous way and you can easily incorporate this into your blog, Facebook fan page and Twitter. For example, California Tortilla, a local Mexican restaurant, recently held a contest for the best radio jingle advertising its burritos. This was a brilliant move as the company not only got lots of attention during the contest, but the winning entry was a useable marketing tool in itself. You can do something similar like having a contest for the best Youtube video.
For businesses that specialize in knowledge-related fields, such as interior designers, dentists, doctors, brokers, etc. an e-newsletter is a good way to publicize your company. E-newsletters establish your credibility in your field, while also associating your name with your industry. If potential customers read your newsletter about healthy teeth and the importance of flossing, when their child complains of a toothache, they will automatically think of you and perhaps forward your e-newsletter to friends and family.
An advertising specialty, or premium, is a gift of some kind with your company’s name and logo on it to remind people of your business. In traditional marketing, a free appetizer with the purchase of two entrees, or free sample product when they purchase a certain dollar amount may just be that extra little something that encourages people to act. Baseball caps are another example of this type of marketing.
I still remember how I was given an Adidas branded sun visor at a sporting event I was at. My kids catch Frisbees with realtor’s names and phone numbers during our town’s parades. As a marketing technique, this is name recognition at its best. You can use this same marketing strategy online by promoting free gifts in your newsletter or on your site—again social media is a great channel for this type of web promotion as well.
If however, you don’t have the money to give you’re your products, offer services like free consultation or a free trial. Remember, people love getting something for free. This will get them to trust you and your product more and they will remember you for it!
Do you agree or disagree? Perhaps, I missed something? Either way, I would just love to hear what your thoughts are on this topic… just let me know your alive!
