Copywriting is one of the most effective ways of driving unlimited traffic to your website for years to come. As long you do your research well and write a compelling article that is optimized for the keywords you are targeting, you will be surprised at how much traffic a single article can generate. However, writing good copy is an art and a science in Internet Marketing.
1) What’s You Goal?
Before you get down to writing your articles, you should have a clear goal of why you are writing it. Do you want to announce your product or services to the world or are you writing it for link building purposes? Are you reviewing comparable products or do you intentionally want people who read the article to check out your product? Your goal will guide you in the voice you should adopt in writing. You can choose to use promotional, humorous, authoritative or other forms of writing depending on what you wish to achieve.
2) Research your Keywords
An article that cannot reach the intended readers is simply there for cosmetic purposes. Your articles should have an impact by driving traffic to your website. Therefore, you have to make it visible on search engines. To do this, you have to research on the keywords that your prospects use in your niche and build the articles around those keywords.
Keyword analysis is very important in your SEO content writing efforts. Make sure you target both short tail and long tail keywords. If you are in a niche that is saturated and hard to dominate, for example a financial niche, going for local search and long tail keywords is more effective.
3) Proper Keyword Placement
Make sure you use your keywords in the right density. Usually, a keyword density of between 3 to 5 percent is more effective. This means that for a 400 words article, the keyword should appear between 3-5 times. Use the keyword is the first and last paragraphs of your article and then spread the rest evenly in the article. Also, encoding the keywords in HTML tags like Strong and Bold will help to rank the articles higher in search results.
SEO copywriting is all about your goals, proper keyword research and proper placement of the keywords. A well optimized article can in the long run when it is submitted in press release sites and article directories, or even shared on social media websites.
